R A Groundworks handles the dirty end of the job properly. Site clearance, dig-outs, foundations, retaining walls, drainage runs and the lot. We turn up with the right kit, work to the engineer's drawing, and leave the site ready for the trades behind us.
Site walked, levels checked, drainage and access mapped before any tracking machine arrives. The first hour on site saves the last week of the job.
Foundations dug to depth, stepped where needed for sloping Cornish plots, with bearing checked and signed off by building control before any concrete goes in.
MOT Type-1 base graded, blinded and whacker-plated in layers, with falls planned to where the surface water actually goes. No shortcuts on the bit you'll never see.
Spoil heaped or carted away on agreement, drainage protected, kerbs and existing surfaces left as we found them. The next trade walks onto a workable site, not our mess.
Yes. From strip and reduce-level dig through to foundations, oversite, slab and external drainage, all signed off ready for the masonry trade. Most of our new-build groundworks work is in Cornwall and east into Plymouth.
Yes. A lot of Cornish plots step badly toward the cliff or the valley, so we plan stepped foundations and retaining walls into the dig from the start. Atlantic weather will find any short cut, so we don't take any.
Common in the china clay belt around St Austell and along the moorland edge. We carry a breaker for the digger and price honestly for the geology. If we hit unexpected rock we'll show you the photo and the engineer's note before any extra is invoiced.
Yes. We book the foundation inspection, the oversite inspection and the drainage inspection with the local authority on your behalf, and we'll be on site for the visit so any query is answered straight away.
Yes. We work routinely as far east as Tavistock and Plymouth, and along the north coast to Bude. Anything beyond that is a phone call away, but most of our travel is inside that radius.
A quick call or message with Robert is usually enough to know whether your groundworks job is a good fit. No detail too small.
